Special Permission for Woman Employees for Bathukamma Festival. The Telangana state government has given permission to leave offices by 2pm for all woman employees (Office bearers) of Telangana state. Woman Employees (Office bearers) are given a special permission to leave offices early by 2pm from 23rd of September 2014 to 2nd October 2014 by the Telangana State Government. The Chief Minister of Telangana Mr.K. Chandra Sekhar Rao has sanctioned 10 Lakh rupees for all the 10 districts for Bathukamma festival expenditure.
The BATHUKAMMA festival is celebrated across Telangana state especially by the women. Telangana women honours goddess Gowri on the name of Bathukamma. In Telugu, ‘Bathukamma means ‘come alive Mother Goddess’. Bathukamma is the 2nd largest festival after Dasara in Telangana Region. Bathukamma festival is a 9-day festival which is being celebrated during Durga Navarathri and this festival will conclude 2 days before Dasara. Every year this festival falls in September–October and as per lunar calendar in the Bhadrapada Amavasya (Mahalaya Amavasya). It is the festival for feminine felicitation. On this special occasion women dress up in the traditional sari combining it with jewels and other accessories.

The President, Telangana Women Employees Association, Hyderabad have requested to provide ‘Other Duty’ facility to the Office bearers from 23.09.2014 to 01.10.2014 to facilitate them to travel to all Districts and to organize the celebration ‘Saadhikara (Saamajika) Bathukamma’ festival in all Districts involving all sections and categories of women working in Government sector.
Telangana Government, after consideration order to provide the ‘Other Duty’ facility to the Office bearers of Telangana Women Employees Association as a special case from 23.09.2014 to 01.10.2014 to facilitate them to organize the celebration of ‘Bathukamma’ festival in all Districts involving women employees working in Government sector.
