Telangana Water Grid
Telangana Government will be implementing Telangana Water Grid project. The Telangana Water Grid Project will cost about Rs.25,000 crore rupees. This project is set up to permanently solve the drinking water problem in the Telangana state. The Telangana Water Grid, which will use 160 TMC water, which uses 80 TMC each from Godavari and Krishna rivers will likely be completed in 4 years time. A similar water grid project was set up in the state of Gujarat by the former Gujarat Chief Minister and present prime minister of India Mr.Narendra Modi. Telangana state legislators and officials will visit Gujarat to study the project which has already been started there in Gujarat.
Telangana Chief Minister Mr.K.Chandra Sekhar Rao said in a press conference that he would lay foundation stone for the project in Nalgonda District. Nalgonda district is a fluoride-affected region. The work will begin in Karimnagar, Nalgonda and Khammam to cover all four regions of the state. He held a meeting with engineers of Rural Water Supply Department to talk about the project. After the completion of the Telangana Water Grid Project, every household in Telangana state would be provided with drinking water. 65 Litres of water will be distributed to every house hold in villages while 135 litres of water will be supplied to the urban people with in the state. 1,00,000 meters length Pipelines will be build under this project.
